Then Comes Spring

And then the sun's rays shown down on me,
like pure light warming my soul
from a cold, winter's night of sorrow.

Joy found place in the birds on wing,
wild flower scents and coloring.

A smile was found in daffodil flowers
and April showers that washed
all the grime away.
